As part of a working trip to the Abai region, the Minister of Industry and Construction, Kanat Sharlapayev, held a meeting with local residents to discuss current issues and development plans.
The minister noted positive changes in the region's economy, highlighting a significant increase in exports of manufactured goods, which rose by 46% compared to the previous year. This was officially reported by the Akimat of the Abai region.

The minister inspected several industrial facilities, including Semey Shoe Factory LLP, EIKOS LLP, PC Semey Cement Plant LLP, Semey Garment Factory LLP, Kazpoligraf LLP, and Semey Machine-Building Plant JSC.
It is noted that over the 10 months of this year, the volume of industrial output amounted to 1.6 trillion tenge. The main contribution came from the mining industry — 1.1 trillion tenge, with a slight increase of 1.4% compared to the same period last year.

An important area of work in the near future will be the training of qualified personnel for industry. According to Kanat Sharlapayev, 13 professional standards have already been developed this year for key sectors — mechanical engineering, metallurgy, chemical production, and the construction industry. Over the next two years, another 141 professional standards are planned to be developed.
Furthermore, as the minister reported during the meeting with residents, large-scale infrastructure projects are planned for implementation in the region this year. 6.1 billion tenge will be allocated for the development of water supply and sanitation, of which 2.3 billion tenge is for urban projects and 3.8 billion tenge for rural areas.
The housing programme will also receive significant support. The region plans to bring 404,700 square metres of housing into use, which will allow 3,800 families to improve their living conditions. 12.5 billion tenge has been set aside for the acquisition of rental housing for socially vulnerable groups.
It may be recalled that recently the Akim of the Abai region, Nurlan Urankhayev, presented ambitious development plans for the Ayagoz District for the coming years during a meeting with local residents.
One of the key investment projects is expected to be the construction of a smelting plant by KAZ Minerals Smelting LLP, which will create 1,083 jobs.
Earlier, it was reported that in the Kokpekti District of the Abai region, two large investment projects are planned: the expansion of a dairy farm and the construction of a gold mining plant.
