On 26 August, two workers from a contractor organisation died on the site of the Shymkent Oil Refinery (ShOR).
According to Tengrinews.kz, an aerial work platform overturned while insulation work was being carried out. The deceased were employees of KRS Astana LLP. The press service of PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP confirmed the tragedy.
"The cause of this incident is being determined by a working group that has been set up. The plant continues to operate as normal," the statement said.
The company's management expressed its condolences to the families of the deceased.
It has become known that the ShOR is part of PetroKazakhstan Oil Products JSC, whose shareholders are NC KazMunayGas JSC (KMG) and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). The shares are distributed equally — 50% each.
Recall that previously, on the site of MAEK LLP (Mangystau Atomic Energy Plant), during repair work on turbine generator No. 3, two fitters sustained burns from hot water, and one of them was hospitalised.
