The parents of a student at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School (NIS) in Astana have stated that their son faced long-term social isolation from his classmates. According to the family, after leaving the school, the teenager attempted suicide, and the materials from their appeal to law enforcement have been with the prosecutor's office since April.

WHAT THE FAMILY SAID

According to the Telegram channel «HALYQSTAN», the student's parents contacted the police, reporting the school administration's inaction in a situation which, they claim, led to the child's severe psychological state.

The teenager's mother said that her son entered NIS on a scholarship, was class monitor, and actively participated in school projects. However, in the eighth grade, according to the woman, his classmates declared a complete boycott of him. The reasons for this treatment are not specified in the materials.

According to the mother, his peers stopped talking to the boy, avoided him in the canteen, and would not sit next to him. She also claims that former friends would end conversations when other students appeared.

WHAT COMPLAINTS THE PARENTS RAISED WITH THE SCHOOL

As the teenager's mother claims, the parents repeatedly approached the class tutor and the school psychologist, but, according to her, the situation did not receive proper attention.

The family states that, over time, the child developed aggression, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. According to the mother, doctors at a state hospital assessed his condition as critical and recommended immediately removing the teenager from the educational institution.

The boy now studies at a different school, takes antidepressants, and is under the supervision of a psychiatrist.

WHAT HAPPENED AFTER LEAVING THE SCHOOL

According to the mother, even after transferring to another school, the teenager's condition remained serious. She claims her son attempted suicide by trying to jump from the ninth floor, but his parents managed to stop him.

Following this, the family filed a report with the police. According to the mother, the materials have been with the prosecutor's office since April.

The woman also reported that the teenager is currently refusing psychological help. According to her, after visiting the Centre for Psychological Support, he stated that he did not want to continue working with specialists, as memories of what he went through cause him severe emotional reactions.

WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION

The family states that they have not yet received the expected response to their appeal. The teenager's mother claims that during a conversation with police officers, she was told: "You should be grateful he's alive."

Official comments from law enforcement agencies, the prosecutor's office, and representatives of NIS are absent. Data on the procedural status of the family's appeal are also not provided.
