In Shymkent, an entrepreneur is suspected of fraud in obtaining subsidies for the agricultural industry. He has ended up in the dock.
As reported by OTYRAR citing the city prosecutor's office, the businessman submitted false applications regarding a reduction in the cost of dairy products. The damage to the state is estimated at 12 million tenge. The case is being heard in court.
"The producer was supposed to sell milk to dairy processing enterprises. According to information provided by the enterprises to the city prosecutor's office, it was known that they had not received any products from this producer. The state subsidy is intended to reduce prices on goods and is paid at a rate of 20 tenge per litre", stated Kalibek Beisenbayev, senior prosecutor of the Shymkent prosecutor's office.
At the same time, prosecutors similarly identified other entrepreneurs who were trying to obtain subsidies without justification. A sum of 24 million tenge was recovered from them in favour of the state. Furthermore, officials were also held accountable for gross violations.
"Under the prosecutor's supervisory order, 6 officials from the Shymkent Department of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, including the deputy head of the department, have been brought to disciplinary responsibility", the statement reads.
