Employees of the tax office in Shymkent were fined for violating business rights

An entrepreneur in Shymkent was unjustly issued a notice to eliminate violations amounting to 466.5 million tenge, instead of the actually identified 28 million tenge. Following the intervention of the prosecutor's office, the illegal notice was cancelled, and two employees of the tax authority were brought to administrative responsibility.

WHAT THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE ESTABLISHED

According to the prosecutor's office of Shymkent, an inspection carried out in coordination with the Committee for the Protection of Investors' Rights of the General Prosecutor's Office revealed instances of unlawful interference by officials of state revenue bodies in the activities of entrepreneurs and investors.

In the course of supervisory activities, it was established that one entrepreneur was unjustly issued a notice to eliminate violations for 466.5 million tenge, although the actual amount of identified violations was 28 million tenge.

According to the prosecutor's office, such actions led to a significant violation of the business entity's rights.

WHAT MEASURES WERE TAKEN

By the act of prosecutorial supervision, the illegal notice was cancelled.

The guilty employee was brought to administrative responsibility under Article 173 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a fine of 216,250 tenge.

Additionally, another employee of the tax authority was brought to administrative responsibility. According to the prosecutor's office, he violated an investor's rights by belatedly lifting restrictions on the company's bank accounts.

The prosecutor's office reported that it continues to suppress instances of illegal administrative pressure on businesses and ensure the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs and investors.

CONTEXT

Earlier in the Almaty region, a court found three employees of tax authorities guilty in a bribery case. They were fined millions of tenge and permanently banned from working in the civil service. Both cases are related to the activities of tax authorities, but concern different circumstances and are not connected to each other.
