In the "Semey Ormany" reserve in the Abai region, a wildfire early warning system will not be installed for 4.1 billion tenge. This decision was made by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources during a meeting dedicated to the upcoming fire season.
"When forming the ministry's budget for 2024, 5.4 billion tenge was allocated for material and technical equipment, but funding for the introduction of an early detection system in the 'Semey Ormany' reserve (4.1 billion tenge) was not supported," the press service of the department reported.
Additionally, it became known that 7.7 billion tenge was allocated for aerial patrols of the state forest fund, and 16.7 billion tenge was allocated for priority measures in the field of civil protection.
Recall that earlier, following an inspection by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, it became known that the Pavloda, Akmola, and Kostanay regions, as well as the "Semey Ormany" reserve, were unprepared for potential wildfires.
Incidentally, in June last year, a major wildfire occurred in the forests of the Abai region, resulting in the deaths of 14 employees of the "Semey Ormany" forest nature reserve.
