In a school in Aktobe, located in the Kenessary Nokina residential area, there has been no heating since the beginning of October. Parents report that children are forced to sit in lessons wearing jackets, and lessons have been shortened to 30 minutes.
According to the publication 'Diapazon', one mother claims that this situation repeats itself year after year.
"The building is cold, the walls have gone cold. Children are getting ill; my child is on sick leave. The headteacher resigned, the acting head hasn't taken up the post yet, there's no one to ask. There's no heating because all the boilers have broken down. The city education department knows, but isn't doing anything. I studied at this school 25 years ago and also sat in lessons in a jacket," the message states.
Parents note that despite funds being allocated for major repairs, the building continues to be in an unsatisfactory condition.
"It's the same every year. Money was allocated for major repairs to the school, and the result – no repairs, they just papered over the cracks. They work on the gym every year, tear up the floors every year, paint in the middle of the school year, and the children breathe it in. The headteacher resigned on 1st October of her own accord, without warning anyone. Without leaving anyone in charge," writes one mother.
The education department reported that major repairs to the building were carried out in 2022. At that time, the school's roof was replaced, the facade was renovated, new doors and linoleum were installed, and the basement and grounds were repaired. An additional renovation of the sports hall was carried out this year.
At the same time, the department explained that a new heating boiler had been purchased for the school, due to the main one breaking down. Work on its installation is currently underway.
It was also clarified that from 6th October, Miramgul Izbagambetova is temporarily fulfilling the duties of the school's headteacher.
