In a private nursery school in the «Bekkul Baba» residential area, a 30-minute drive from Aktobe, children are forced to be in a cold building.
According to Tengrinews.kz, teachers are asking parents to bring warm blankets and pyjamas because of the low temperature in the groups.
«There was a message in the general chat where the teachers wrote that it was cold in the groups. They asked us to bring warm blankets, warm shoes, and pyjamas, almost with a fleece lining. Some people actually did. I have two children attending this nursery. And ever since the cold weather set in, they have ended up in hospital three times, once with pneumonia, once with bronchitis. They get cold at nursery and start getting ill», says Ainur Kabyltaeva, a resident of the residential area.
After numerous complaints, the head of the city education department, Alibi Latyp, arrived at the nursery and confirmed that the temperature regulations in the building are not being met.
«The radiators are hot, but overall the building is cool. The temperature conditions in this institution are not being maintained. As a result, the children are frequently ill. This institution is private. It operates under a state contract. And if this problem is not resolved by the founder, then the question of closing this nursery will be raised», reported the head of the department.
According to him, 54,600 tenge is allocated monthly for the maintenance of each child. The head of the nursery, Sharbanu Orazbayeva, stated that a total of 94 children aged from 3 to 5 years attend the institution.
«I wouldn't say it's actually cold here. The temperature in the rooms is about 20 degrees above zero. If parents wish, they can send warm clothes, we don't mind. As of today, out of 94 children, five are on holiday, one child is temporarily not attending, and 30 are on sick leave», she declared.
However, parents and journalists were not allowed into the building. The nursery management cited a lack of permission from the founder. Angry parents intend to contact the prosecutor's office for a full inspection of the institution's activities.
Furthermore, local residents are demanding the construction of a state-run nursery, which is still absent from the «Bekkul Baba» residential area.
Recall that at the beginning of December, local officials were dismissed for the failure of the heating season at a school in the Zhaksyn district of the Akmola region.
