JSC 'NWF Samruk-Kazyna' is cutting 10% of its head office staff. The decision to reduce headcount was made in light of statements by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, about the need to review personnel structures and improve the efficiency of the quasi-public sector.
REASONS FOR THE CUTS
According to the President, a layer of employees has formed in a number of quasi-public organisations who are effectively not involved in production processes. During working hours, such employees spend time in cafes and hotels, socialise with each other, use the internet and do not carry out specific tasks, reports Telegram channel 'Atameken business'.
MANAGEMENT'S RESPONSE
Earlier, the President held meetings with the heads of national companies and the Samruk-Kazyna fund about the low workload of some employees. He emphasised that such situations require a systematic solution and oversight.
