The FBKK editorial team continues its report on the total remuneration of the executive bodies of companies that have a significant influence on the economy of Kazakhstan.
Previously, we wrote in detail about the national companies JSC "NC "KazMunayGas", JSC "NAC "Kazatomprom", JSC "NC "QazaqGaz" and JSC "Kazakhtelecom", which are part of the Kazakhstani investment holding company JSC "NWF "Samruk-Kazyna".
Today, we will focus on JSC "Kazakhstan Company for the Management of Electrical Grids "KEGOC".
JSC "KEGOC" acts as the system operator of the Unified Electric Power System (UES) of Kazakhstan.
For January – March 2024, the national company's revenue increased by 40.5%, surpassing 85 billion tenge.
In 2020, the total remuneration of the board of JSC "KEGOC," consisting of 5 people, exceeded 251 million tenge.
At that time, the executive body of the company was headed by Bakytzhan Kazhiyev. His work at JSC "KEGOC" began back in 2000. In 2011, Mr. Kazhiyev took up the position of chairman of the board, and left his post in December 2021.
Soon, the board was headed by Kanysh Moldabayev. In 2021, the company's executive body, consisting of 6 people, received a total of about 221 million tenge.
In 2022, the board under the chairmanship of Mr. Moldabayev also numbered 6 people, who received more than 179 million tenge by the end of the year.
In 2023, the position of chairman of the board of JSC "KEGOC" passed to Nabi Aitzhanov. The executive body, consisting of 6 people, then received a total of about 323 million tenge.
Let us recall that the change of head of JSC "KEGOC" was preceded by an accident at the Mangistau Atomic Energy Combine (MAEC), which occurred in July 2023.
As a result, part of Atyrau was left without electricity, and process units at the Atyrau Oil Refinery (AOR) shut down in an emergency.
Later, at the request of the Mangistau region akimat, the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan allocated about 4.9 billion tenge from its reserve for repair work at the MAEC.
Let us recall that in July of this year, JSC "KEGOC" agreed on a loan of 58.2 billion tenge from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The funds are intended for reinforcing the electrical grid of the Southern zone of the UES.
