Prosecutors in the Abai region prevented unjustified spending of more than 160 million tenge from the budget.

According to the press service of the department, local enterprises responsible for heat supply tried to purchase coal at inflated prices through government procurement, totalling over 3.5 billion tenge

After the intervention of the prosecutor's office, the purchases were cancelled, and the enterprise concluded a contract directly with the coal producer.

The saved funds, amounting to more than 160 million tenge, were promised to be directed towards social payments for enterprise employees.

Recall that earlier it was reported that from January to April 2024, the Anti-Corruption Agency prevented the inefficient use of budget funds totalling 12.4 billion tenge. It was noted that the most common findings were inflated costs for fuel and lubricants (23%), office supplies (19%), food products (6%) and premises rental (6%).
