The Department for Land Management of the Ulytau Region inspected a limited liability partnership in the Ulytau District and identified 90,000 hectares of pastures that had not been used for a long time.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, the partnership was issued an instruction to develop the land, but the requirements were not met within the established timeframe. The department filed a lawsuit for the compulsory seizure of the land.
The Specialised Inter-District Economic Court upheld the department's demands. In turn, the limited liability partnership attempted to appeal the decision, but the court of the Ulytau Region rejected the appeal. As a result, the land was transferred to state ownership.
It will be recalled that in early February, more than 4,959 hectares of unused agricultural land were returned to state ownership in the Abay Region. Of these, 4,694 hectares are pastures and about 264 hectares are other unused land.
Later, the Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Almaty Region identified 44 land plots of the state forest fund that were being used for unauthorised purposes.
