Over 700 residents of the WKR have been left without the medications they are entitled to

In the Akzhaik district of the West Kazakhstan region, more than 700 residents were left without the medicines they were supposed to receive.

According to KTK, the region's prosecutors inspected the work of the local hospital and found that residents of the district were not being given the medicines due to them under the guaranteed volume of free medical care.

The department did not give a reason, but explained that the hospital had been ordered to purchase the necessary medications.

"More than 700 patients registered under dispensary observation with various diagnoses were not given free medicines. As a result of the prosecutor's measures, an uninterrupted supply of drugs has been organised, and a request has been submitted for their additional purchase," said Yernat Makhsotov, assistant prosecutor of the West Kazakhstan region.

For context, in January the Agency for the Development and Regulation of the Financial Market identified serious shortcomings in the activities of the RSE "National Centre for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices". It is reported that the enterprise compares drug prices in neighbouring countries "superficially", relying only on data provided by applicants.

At the same time, the department noted that the lack of transparency in the drug supply procedure and the low level of focus of LLP "SK-Pharmacy" on direct purchases of drugs from manufacturers leads to a significant waste of budget funds.
