The prosecutor's office of the North Kazakhstan Region has uncovered large-scale violations in the area of public procurement and has restricted the activities of dishonest suppliers.
According to the department's press service, officials in a number of districts ignored legal requirements and did not submit information about suppliers to the authorised body, despite court rulings that had come into force.
It was reported that violations occurred in the offices of the akims of Akzhar, Kyzylzhar, Magzhan Zhumabayev, Shal Akyn and Ualikhanov districts, as well as in district departments of education and housing and communal services, including the Mental Health Centre.
In the Timiryazev district, the education department took no measures for over a year to restrict a supplier whom the court had found to be dishonest.
As a result of the prosecutor's oversight, 15 officials were held accountable, and 26 companies and individual entrepreneurs were added to the register of dishonest suppliers. This decision excludes them from further participation in public procurement.
It will be recalled that previously the prosecutor's office of the North Kazakhstan Region uncovered the falsification of information regarding the elimination of 79 unauthorised landfills, the dumping of waste outside designated sites, and the placement of rubbish outside of landfill sites.
At that time, for distorting reports on the elimination of unauthorised landfills, inadequate environmental monitoring and weak coordination of work, 13 officials were brought to disciplinary responsibility, including the head of the ecology department, the head of the natural resources department of the regional akimat, and the deputy akims of the Akkayyn, Kyzylzhar and Mamlyut districts.
