Astana's Anti-Corruption Service is investigating a criminal case against a former deputy director of a department at the Ministry of Agriculture on suspicion of committing a serious corruption offence.
According to the agency's press service, he is suspected of illegally involving an affiliated company in the repair of official vehicles.
It is reported that the official cashed out and embezzled more than 3 million tenge of budget funds through this enterprise.
Earlier, it was reported that a sentence was handed down in Astana against the chief accountant of RGSE "Phytosanitary" of the state inspection committee in the agro-industrial complex of the Ministry of Agriculture. The investigation established that the defendant withdrew and appropriated 2.7 million tenge from the company's account under the guise of a salary.
