In the Kostanay Social Services Centre for children with special needs, a caregiver burned a 16-year-old girl with a hot iron.
According to the Telegram channel "Halyqstan", the incident occurred in the presence of other staff members. The victim is a teenage girl with a psychoneurological diagnosis.
It is reported that the caregiver repeatedly burned the teenager's body with a hot iron during a conflict. Immediately after the incident came to light, the centre's management called the police.
The suspect and her colleague were dismissed. A criminal case has been opened against the main suspect, and she is under investigation. The centre's director has been transferred to another position.
Under the article with which the suspect has been charged, she faces up to two years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Cmn.kz, citing the Kostanay Regional Police Department, reports that the authorities are carrying out investigative actions.
"In connection with the incident, the police have opened a criminal case under Clause 1, Part 2 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 'Torture'", the police stated.
It is worth recalling that a video previously circulated online from the private centre "Aqyldy bala" in Saryagash, showing a staff member using physical force against a 13-year-old boy with Down syndrome. The footage shows the teacher grabbing the child by the leg and dragging him across the floor, and then grabbing a stick and swinging it at the boy.
