The Department of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM) in the Akmola Region has completed an investigation into the organisers of the structural subdivision of the financial pyramid «S-Group» in Kokshetau.
According to the agency's press service, participants were offered to invest funds under the guise of investments in supposedly legitimate business projects — the production and distribution of medical cannabis «S-Pharmaceutical», as well as a number of other areas.
The organisers promised depositors a guaranteed income of 5% of the contribution amount for each participant brought in. Participation required registration on the project's website and an initial deposit of $100 (53,846 tenge).
It is noted that one of the suspects had previously participated in the financial pyramids «Life Is Good» and «Finiko», where she earned income, and then decided to use a similar scheme to create her own project.
The «S-Group» structure involved 59 citizens, who invested more than 136 million tenge.
«With the depositors' money, the suspects purchased two apartments in the capital with a parking space, which have been seized by court order,» the statement reads.
A preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the country and to behave appropriately has been imposed on three organisers.
