The Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency (AFM) in the Kyzylorda region has shut down the activities of the "HRT" financial pyramid.

According to the agency's press service, the organisers offered citizens to invest in a supposedly legitimate investment project. Its essence was the purchase of electric scooters and the generation of income from their rental in European countries.

To register, participants were asked to transfer cryptocurrency from electronic exchanges to a special "HRT" account. The main condition was attracting at least two new investors.

As a result, more than 200 citizens invested between 50 and 35,000 US dollars, hoping to receive monthly bonuses of up to 1,200 dollars. The total amount of illegal income exceeded 28 million tenge

The investigation established that the suspects used the investors' money to purchase two cars, a BMW 530I Xdrive and a Changan Alsvin, which were seized by court order. A measure of restraint in the form of house arrest was chosen for the suspects.

Furthermore, law enforcement officers are conducting pre-trial investigations into the creation of structural divisions of the "HRT" financial pyramid in seven regions of the country: Aktobe, Almaty, Atyrau, Zhambyl regions, as well as in the cities of Astana and Almaty.

It was previously reported that the AFM in the Mangystau region is investigating an organised criminal group that ran a structural division of the "Sax Invest" financial pyramid. The organisers illegally raised over 9 billion tenge from a thousand investors.
