A private bailiff (PBA) seized a Mercedes car belonging to the brother of the former mayor of Shymkent, Marat Aitenov, due to child support arrears.
As reported by Informburo.kz, citing the regional chamber of PBAs in Astana, he owes his children more than 23 million tenge. The car will be put up for sale, and the proceeds will go towards paying off the debt.
It is noted that Aitenov’s ex-wife, Dana Ateshova, stated that her former husband had been hiding this car. According to her, Marat Aitenov ‘colluded with a certain PBA’, after which the bailiff did not send the order to seize the car to his place of work.
Recall that in July, Dana Ateshova reported that Aitenov and his trusted associates, accompanied by police officers, forcibly tried to evict her from her home.
A few days later, a court in Astana found Aitenov guilty under the article ‘Unlawful actions in the sphere of family and domestic relations’ and sentenced him to 5 days in custody. In August, he was found guilty of violence against his ex-wife and sentenced to 12 days in custody.
Later, the court fined Dana Ateshova 73 thousand tenge for causing minor bodily harm to the owner of the house from which she was being evicted.
Incidentally, in April of last year, Ateshova staged a single picket outside the Supreme Court, aiming to secure a review of the case, particularly to achieve what she considered a fairer amount of child support.
The woman claimed that her ex-husband had deliberately reduced his salary to lower the monthly payments. At the same time, it emerged that Dana Ateshova and her three children were being asked to vacate the house they were living in at the time.
