A meeting organised by the Youth Resource Centre of Karaganda was held in Maikuduk Park, where pressing issues of drug abuse prevention among members of the  ‘Zhasyl El’ movement were discussed. The event, which took place on 16 July, aimed to raise young people's awareness of the risks of drug use and to foster a responsible attitude towards their own health and future.

The speaker was the senior operative of the Drug Crime Prevention Department of the Karaganda Region Police Department, N.B. Sadvakasov. The meeting was part of preventive work with young people, which is an important area of activity for law enforcement agencies.

During the event, new types of narcotic substances and their effects on the human body were discussed. The police officer told participants about how various drugs affect health, particularly the still-developing bodies of adolescents.

A significant part of the event was devoted to the legal aspects of drug use. N.B. Sadvakasov explained in detail the legal consequences for those who become involved with drugs.

The event also covered modern prevention methods and the fight against the spread of drugs among young people. Particular attention was paid to ways of preventing young people from falling into addiction.

It is worth noting that on the same day, another raid to destroy advertising of synthetic drugs took place in Karaganda. The Karaganda Youth Resource Centre organised a large-scale campaign to combat drug advertising in the urban environment, with participants painting over advertisements for synthetic narcotic substances on the streets of the regional centre.

Such events play an important role in promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people. Open dialogue between law enforcement representatives and young people contributes to a better understanding of the drug problem. Preventive work based on reliable information remains one of the most effective tools in the fight against drug abuse in modern society.
