The Department of Land Management of the Zhetysu Region returned to the state a plot in the Sarkand District where mineral extraction was taking place near anthrax burial sites.
"The lawsuit contained demands to invalidate the lease agreement for a land plot of 14.6 hectares, to require the land user to carry out reclamation of disturbed lands in accordance with the project, and to cancel the registration of the right to temporary compensated long-term land use," reported the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The regional economic court upheld the lawsuit and ordered the land to be returned to the state fund.
Recall that on 22 November 2024, a livestock market in Atyrau was closed for quarantine after anthrax bacteria were found in the carcass of a dead animal.
As it became known, on 12 November, a market worker noticed a suspicious cow carcass that had been brought from the West Kazakhstan Region. Only four days later did veterinary services take tissue samples and send them for laboratory analysis.
On 25 November, one of the market workers confirmed the cutaneous form of the disease.
