In the Atyrau region, a teacher at a private nursery school was sentenced for hitting a 5-year-old child during a lesson.

According to the regional court press service, a forensic medical examination found that the child had a haematoma on their right thigh.

The defendant fully admitted her guilt. The injured party asked for a less severe punishment.

In the end, the court found the teacher guilty and sentenced her to a fine of 80 MCI (314,560 tenge), and banned her from holding teaching positions and working with minors for one year.

It should be recalled that large-scale projects to protect children from violence are in place in Kazakhstan. For example, the Prosecutor General's Office carried out extensive work, visiting more than 63,000 families from at-risk groups.

Following the inspections, the agency initiated 93 pre-trial investigations against guardians and parents, and 11,000 legal representatives were held administratively liable for failing to fulfil their duties. 342 children were placed under state care due to extreme necessity.
