The hotel complex Comfort Hotel Astana, transferred to the state by Kairat Boranbayev, has been put up for auction by the Department of Investment and Entrepreneurship Development.
The terms state that the hotel will be transferred into trust management for 5 years with the right to purchase. The starting price of the lot is 3.9 billion tenge. The guarantee deposit is 587.9 million tenge.
The auction is scheduled to begin on 27 March. The potential owner of the hotel must use the hotel complex strictly for its intended purpose. Furthermore, they must have at least 7 years of experience in managing hotels in Kazakhstan.
It should be recalled that in October 2023, Kairat Boranbayev transferred the Comfort Hotel Astana hotel complex, valued at over 1.4 billion tenge, to the state. Later, the Mayor of Astana, Zhenis Kassymbek, announced that the hotel would be transferred to the balance sheet of the city mayor's office.
At the same time, he stated that there was no need to transfer the property for social services, noting a shortage of hotels of this standard for tourism purposes.
