An official representative of Anti-Corruption Daniyar Bigaydarov reported that the head of the fisheries committee of the Ministry of Agriculture is suspected of taking bribes.
According to media reports, a pre-trial investigation is underway against him. It is also reported that other individuals are under investigation.
They are suspected of having received bribes from entrepreneurs between 2021 and 2024 in exchange for general patronage.
"The investigating court has sanctioned a measure of restraint for the suspect in the form of house arrest using an electronic bracelet. He has fully admitted his guilt and is currently cooperating with the investigation. We are checking the involvement of other employees; the investigation is ongoing," said Daniyar Bigaydarov.
Earlier, founder of the FBRK Kirill Pavlov received information that the acting chairman of the fisheries committee of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nariman Zhunusov, had been detained while receiving a bribe. Notably, on the committee's website, he is still listed as the head of the department.
