The head of the department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Pavlodar region received 3 years for a bribe.

The head of the department of the industrial safety committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Pavlodar region, K. Temirkhanov, has been convicted of corruption.

According to the press service of Anti-Cor, he was accused of accepting a bribe of 1.3 million tenge from a company director. The bribe was intended for general patronage during inspections in the field of industrial safety.

As a result, Pavlodar Court No. 2 found the head of the regional department guilty and sentenced him to 3 years' imprisonment.

Additionally, the head of the department and his deputy were dismissed "for improper performance of official duties". The court verdict has not yet entered into legal force.

It will be recalled that previously, Anti-Cor completed its investigation into the chairman of the fire service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the heads of the Emergency Situations Department of Shymkent and the Zhetysu region. The officials are suspected of receiving bribes from a businessman amounting to more than 40 million tenge.

The investigative court authorised a measure of restraint for the suspects in the form of detention.
