The head of the anti-plague station in Shymkent has been convicted

In Shymkent, the head of the State Institution "Shymkent Plague Control Station" Ratbek Sailaubekuly, the manager of the branch State Institution "Otrar Plague Control Department" Gulzhaina Abishova, as well as the chief accountant Shokan Zeilbekov were convicted. 

They were found guilty of receiving and giving a bribe for employment, as well as embezzling 2 million tenge by processing fictitious travel expenses. 

It was previously reported that in 2023, Sailaulekuly together with Zeilbekov made false entries in travel expense reports. And at the beginning of 2024, Abishova gave Sailaubekuly a bribe of 100,000 tenge to extend a contract with disinfection workers. 

By the verdict of the Shymkent City Inter-district Criminal Court, Sailaubekuly, Abishova, and Zeilbekov were fined a total of 48.4 million tenge with a lifetime ban from holding positions in the civil service.
