Halyk Bank sold its Kyrgyz subsidiary

JSC «Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan» (Halyk Bank) has announced the sale of 100% of the shares of its subsidiary bank in Kyrgyzstan - OJSC «Halyk Bank Kyrgyzstan». According to KASE, all shares of the Kyrgyz subsidiary have been transferred to a consortium of buyers that are part of the investment group Visor International DMCC (Visor).

«The Visor group plans to retain OJSC «Halyk Bank Kyrgyzstan» as an independent legal entity and will continue its development in Kyrgyzstan», stated in the official announcement from Halyk Bank.

According to media reports, the chairman of the board of directors of Vizor is Aidan Karibzhanov. He ranks 19th in the top 50 most influential businessmen in Kazakhstan according to Forbes. His assets are estimated at $226 million

It became known at the end of 2023 that Halyk Bank had agreed with the Visor group on the sale of its subsidiary organisation in Kyrgyzstan. Halyk Bank was awaiting approval of the deal by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
