In the internal audit department of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the results of an audit of the branches of RSE "Kazvodkhoz", conducted in 2024, were reported.
According to the press service of the department, following the inspections, more than 30 individuals were brought to administrative responsibility, and several officials were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
For example, in the "Alatau" branch of the Almaty region, cases of fraud were identified involving employees who had previously been dismissed from their posts.
"The audits conducted have revealed the need for further improvement of current legislation to better provide citizens with drinking and irrigation water. Materials on all identified violations have been sent to law enforcement agencies. Recommendations and instructions were also given to the relevant structures and departments of the ministry," said the director of the internal audit department, Galymzhan Moldash.
Recall that in June of last year, an audit conducted in the Zhambyl region identified about 10 instances of illegal use of water resources, as well as violations in contracts concluded with farmers for the supply of irrigation water.
In July, the director of the branch and the head of the Shu-Talas Basin Inspectorate of the Zhambyl region were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
In September, based on the results of the internal audit, the director of the branch of RSE "Kazvodkhoz" for the Zhambyl region and the head of the Asa production site were released from their posts.
In October, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation identified violations amounting to 20 million tenge, related to the illegal use of water, inefficient use of water resources, and public procurement in the branches of "Kazvodkhoz".
