The Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) for the Almaty region has completed an investigation into a case of embezzlement of budget funds at JSC «Volkovgeology».
According to the agency's press service, the company is the main enterprise of JSC «NAC «Kazatomprom» for geological support and technological drilling.
It has become known that the former chairman of the company's board, D.N. Moldashi, organised a scheme in which, over the course of two years, certificates of completed work were drawn up containing deliberately false information.
The documents indicated the acceptance of spare parts from LLP «Kazburmash SK», although actual deliveries did not take place. Based on the fictitious documents, more than 86 million tenge was transferred to the counterparty, which was subsequently illegally appropriated.
The FMA clarified that during the investigation, the damage caused to the state was fully compensated. The case materials have been sent to court.
Earlier, in relation to this matter, the court had already passed sentences on the branch director of JSC, Borashev A.M., the head of LLP «Kazburmash SK», Alipbayev Ye.S., and the accountant Tokatayeva G.Zh. The defendants in the case were sentenced to imprisonment for terms ranging from 3 to 7 years.
