In the Turkestan Region, a criminal case has been opened following a statement by an 18-year-old girl on the grounds of coercion to sexual intercourse. The possible involvement of former police officers is being investigated. Earlier, following an internal inquiry, they were dismissed from the internal affairs bodies.
The statement about a possible crime, in which police officers may have been involved, became the basis for a criminal investigation and an internal review. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported that the case is under the special supervision of the department's leadership.
WHAT IS KNOWN FROM THE STATEMENT
According to the MIA, an 18-year-old resident of Turkestan contacted law enforcement agencies. Based on her statement, a criminal case has been opened on the grounds of coercion to sexual intercourse, reports the Telegram channel «HALYQSTAN».

INVESTIGATION INTO THE INVOLVEMENT OF EX-POLICE OFFICERS
The department stated that information about the possible involvement of former police officers is being investigated "in full" as part of the pre-trial inquiry.

RESULTS OF THE INTERNAL INQUIRY
Simultaneously, an internal disciplinary investigation was conducted. Based on its results, the said officers have been dismissed from the internal affairs bodies on negative grounds — for discrediting the service.
This refers specifically to a disciplinary decision made before the conclusion of the criminal proceedings.
COURSE OF THE INVESTIGATION
Investigative bodies are carrying out a set of actions aimed at a "comprehensive, complete and objective establishment of all circumstances of the incident".
As emphasised by the MIA, the course of the investigation is under the special supervision of the Minister of Internal Affairs.
