Digital tools for predicting flood situations were presented to Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov

According to "BlueScreen|Digital Kazakhstan", a prototype of a system for modelling floods and predicting the filling of reservoirs was reviewed in several regions of Kazakhstan.

"As part of the prototype development, algorithms for modelling and calculating water runoff were created, and pilot tests were conducted on several river sections. The digital tool will allow calculations of regulated and unregulated water runoff, and also display flood zones on a map for a given water level," the statement said.

It also reports on digital tools developed to support domestic producers. The systems allow monitoring the work of each production enterprise, and also enable the online detection of instances where their interests are being infringed upon by state bodies.

In turn, Olzhas Bektenov approved the projects and gave instructions for their pilot implementation. At the same time, he instructed the launch of a service for receiving applications for flood damage compensation, and for monitoring the implementation of flood control measures online, using existing CCTV cameras.

"The Head of State, in his address, set a strategically important task – to transform Kazakhstan into an IT nation. For correct management decisions, it is necessary to have high-quality operational information and use new technologies. It is necessary to scale the proposed approaches to other sectors of the economy. All the tools and information are available. Data exchange and system integration need to be properly established," Olzhas Bektenov emphasised.

The Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Bagdat Musin, to ensure the timely updating of data and the introduction of digital tools into all spheres of the country's life.

It should be recalled that the day before, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed that compensation be paid to those affected by the floods by the end of this week.
