Experts from the SRC have travelled to the border with China to resolve the issue of vehicle queues.

A working group from the State Revenue Committee (SRC) has travelled to the Kazakhstan-China border to resolve the problem of traffic congestion.

According to the press service of the department, the main difficulty arose at the «Nur Zholy - Khorgos» checkpoint, where slots in the vehicle queue are booked two weeks in advance.

«Against the general backdrop of a shortage of available slots, offers to sell bookings have appeared on social media and in specialist chats, which causes a certain discontent among honest carriers and creates «favourable» conditions for various corrupt practices. In this regard, to eliminate the conditions that have arisen for violating the operating procedures of the CarGoRuqsat service, employees of the main transport prosecutor's office and the SRC have travelled directly to the customs post as part of the group», the statement reads.

It is reported that the working group is ruling out interference from so-called «helpers» and robot programs that create an artificial shortage of available slots in the system.

These programs bypass the security and allow slots to be taken out of turn. In this connection, the SRC has decided to change the booking process.

«Now, the ability to book a place in the queue and select the time/date for crossing the checkpoint will be granted to the user after they have passed the format-logical control», the statement reads.

It is expected that this will weed out those speculating on slots in the queue, and allow the carrier to pass the compliance check without rushing and then choose a convenient time for travel.

«Separately, the State Revenue Committee reports that from 28 October this year, the issuance of foreign permit forms at the border with the People's Republic of China at checkpoints will be temporarily suspended due to their unavailability - pending resolution of the situation by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan», the statement reads.

Recall, recently the editorial board of FBRK wrote about how foreign companies are penetrating the Kazakhstan freight transport market. We reported, that the influx of road transport companies from Russia and Belarus into Kazakhstan, provoked by anti-Russian sanctions, has significantly impacted the country's transport and logistics sector.

Our editorial board sent an official request to the Ministry of Transport to find out whether a process of ousting domestic carriers from the international transport market is being observed in Kazakhstan. The department's detailed response can be found via the link.
