LLP «Returned Asset Management Company» (RAMC) has put up for auction exclusive jewellery, wristwatches and collector coins totalling over 414 million tenge.
The Returned Asset Management Company was established by decree of President Tokayev last year as part of a campaign to recover assets illegally transferred abroad.
Assets are returned through the courts, often thanks to international cooperation, and are then transferred to the partnership for further return to the state treasury.
For context, in the case of Kairat Satybaldy alone, the state recovered over 732 billion tenge.
Assets subject to sale are put up for public auction.
This time, the electronic trading platform featured 19 units of exclusive items: jewellery, wristwatches and collector coins totalling over 414 million tenge.
The most expensive lot was the «Ulysse Nardin Classic 789-80» wristwatch, with a starting price of 214.5 million tenge. 
The Westminster chime on this model is produced by four gongs, each with a different pitch: 'mi-do-re-sol'.
The 18-carat gold figures on the aventurine dial are hand-carved. The model is part of a limited series of 30 wristwatches.
Another interesting lot is the set of diamond jewellery, consisting of two earrings, a pendant on a chain, and two rings. The starting price for the set is approximately 85.5 million tenge. 
Among the collector coins, the most valuable are the «Troops of Chinggis Khan» (1 piece) and «Genghis Khan» (2 pieces) – in one lot, with a starting price of 219 thousand tenge. 
The auction is scheduled to begin on 11 October 2024.
One wonders who could have owned such exclusive items.
For context, the editorial team of BES.media recently reported on the Genghisid ring with Arabic script, which the RAMC put up for auction with a modest starting price of 136 thousand tenge. The craftsmanship of the piece and the inscription 'Blessed be' on the ring suggest it dates back to the 14th century.
Journalists speculated that, given its historical value, its price should be significantly higher.
Soon after, the RAMC withdrew the ring from auction to conduct a re-evaluation of the item.
