The director of the State Communal Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management "Almaty Tazalyk", A. Toktassynov, and the director of the private company LLP "Kala Korkeitu", S. Baizhanov, have been convicted of corruption in Almaty.

According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Toktassynov received a bribe of 2.7 million tenge from an entrepreneur for concluding subcontract agreements for street and pavement maintenance services, as well as for signing certificates of completed work.

As a result, the court found Toktassynov guilty of receiving a bribe and sentenced him to a fine of 81 million tenge. Baizhanov was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison for giving a bribe, to be served in a medium-security colony.

Recall that earlier it was reported that the Almaty Anti-Corruption Agency was conducting a pre-trial investigation into the director of "Almaty Tazalyk", who was suspected of receiving a bribe. The bribe was intended for signing certificates of completed work, concluding additional contracts for public procurement, and general patronage.
