A modern, comfortable dormitory is being built in Shymkent for 300 students at the special boarding school and college, which educates children with speech and other disabilities. Funding comes from recovered assets.
According to the city prosecutor's office press service, the dormitory will have all necessary facilities: a medical room, sports areas, recreation rooms, and other amenities.
The project is scheduled for completion in December of this year. The project timelines and quality of construction work are being monitored by the Shymkent prosecutor's office.
"Targeted work continues on the return and use of illegally withdrawn assets for the benefit of the country, aimed at creating comfortable conditions that directly improve the living standards of the population," the statement said.
It will be recalled that earlier it was reported that an ambitious programme for the construction and modernisation of social facilities continues in Kazakhstan, funded by assets recovered from illegal transfers.
To date, 406 projects worth a total of 318 billion tenge have been approved. Of these, 333 projects are already underway. It was noted that the main focus is on the development of education, healthcare, sports, and water supply: 9 educational facilities, 3 sports facilities, 162 medical facilities, and 159 water infrastructure projects are being built.
