A doctor from the Makishev metropolitan medical centre has been convicted in a bribery case.
According to Antikor, the Interdistrict Criminal Court of Astana found the doctor guilty of receiving a bribe in the amount of 500 thousand tenge.
The medical centre doctor received the illegal financial reward from a patient for carrying out a routine surgical operation. It is noted that the sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
It may be recalled that earlier this year, officers of the Antikor Aktobe Region detained the chief physician of the multidisciplinary regional hospital on suspicion of corruption. The detainee admitted his guilt and agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
