The director of the branch of RSE «Kazvodkhoz» in the Zhambyl region and the head of the Asa production site were dismissed from their positions following an internal audit.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the deputy director of the branch and the heads of the Korday, Baizak and Merke production sites were brought to disciplinary liability in the form of severe reprimands.
For further study of the identified violations, the audit materials were transferred to the Prosecutor General's Office. The department noted that inspections will also be carried out in other regions.
In total, about 10 cases of illegal use of water resources were identified in the Zhambyl region. In addition, auditors found violations in the conclusion of contracts with farmers for the supply of irrigation water.
In turn, the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov promised that a special commission would be established under the ministry to inspect the branches of Kazvodkhoz and basin inspections.
«Illegal activities will certainly be stopped, and offenders and officials will be held accountable. We will strengthen control over the use of water resources», the minister assured.
Recall that at the beginning of the year, the editorial board of the FBRK wrote that the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation intends to conduct an audit of the state enterprises «Kazvodkhoz» and «Nurinsky Group Water Pipeline». The editorial board obtained information that the audit of the «Nurinsky Group Water Pipeline» revealed violations in public procurement.
As we have learned, the inspection showed that the general director of the enterprise, Gamzat Sagandikov, accepted an unfinished construction project. The damage to the state exceeded 40.5 million tenge.
Shortly before this, the former chairperson of the Supreme Audit Chamber, Natalia Godunova, stated that since 2017, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as the Islamic Development Bank, have been financing 61 projects of Kazvodkhoz worth $317 million. However, according to her, the attracted loans for water supply projects are being implemented inefficiently.
