In the corridors of the Mazhilis, MP Bakytzhan Bazarbek made a sharp statement, accusing the government of delaying decisions and allowing systemic problems to pile up over many years. According to him, issues in the social sphere, utility infrastructure, land and construction disputes have gone unaddressed for years, which is now leading to serious public tension.
According to Ulysmedia.kz, Bazarbek noted that the lack of coherent answers from government members is not a sign of disregard for parliament, but rather an indication that officials often simply cannot provide explanations.
"Understand that the government may have nothing to say. Problems have been piling up for years, like a snowball. Work has only just begun," he said.
The MP recalled that as far back as 2023–2024 he raised issues which, he claimed, were long ignored and are now leading to increased social pressure. At the same time, Bazarbek stated that his inquiries are having a real effect — inspections are being launched, criminal cases are being opened, and lawsuits are being filed as a result.
"I submit my inquiries — and they work 95% of the time. If the government forgets, I'll take them by the throat. That's why they know me well," said the MP, emphasising his intention to ensure every request is followed through.
His statements came amid widespread criticism of the government from the parliamentary corps. The day before, on 3 December, Mazhilis members openly expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the cabinet of ministers.
House Speaker Yerlan Koshanov noted that the responses were unconvincing, and that instead of offering concrete solutions, officials prefer to pass the buck or drag out approvals. MP Yelnur Beisenbayev also stated that certain government members are not ready for constructive dialogue.
