The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) has completed its investigation into a criminal case against the former general director of Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP (AOR) Murat Dosmuratov.
According to the agency's press service, he is suspected of abusing his official powers, which resulted in grave consequences in the form of particularly large-scale damage to the state.
It is reported that despite the existence of a warranty period on the supplied equipment, Dosmuratov unreasonably allocated money from AOR funds and entered into a contract for the repair of technological equipment worth 1.9 billion tenge.
"A preventive measure in the form of house arrest has been chosen for M.A. Dosmuratov. Other information in the interests of the investigation, in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is not subject to disclosure", the statement reads.
It will be recalled that it was previously reported that ex-general director of AOR Shukhrat Danbai was found guilty of a fourth episode of abuse of official powers.
While head of AOR, he signed an order to commission the deep oil refining complex, despite the fact that the equipment installer had not rectified the defects. To recall, the damage to the enterprise at that time was estimated at nearly 728 million tenge.
The court sentenced Danbai to a punishment of restriction of liberty for a term of 4 years 6 months with a lifetime ban on holding positions in the civil service.
Previously, Shukhrat Danbai had already been convicted of three different episodes of abuse of official powers and misappropriation of another's property, for which he received 3.5 years of restriction of liberty.
