These amendments are set to be introduced from 1 January 2025. According to the press service of the Supreme Audit Chamber, earlier during an audit in the Pavlodar region, experts identified cases where construction work payments were accepted without the work actually being carried out, amounting to more than 731 million tenge

At the same time, the Pavlodar Construction Department paid a contractor for 'work' based on certificates that had already been paid for previously.

"In this regard, the Ministry of Finance was instructed to make the necessary changes so that treasury support covers a larger number of construction contracts under budgetary investment projects", the statement says.

On 25 September, amendments were made to the rules for budget execution and its cash servicing, according to which treasury support will apply to contracts with an estimated cost of  1 billion tenge. Previously, this threshold was 2 billion tenge.
