In the town of Shchuchinsk, Akmola Region, a hired worker from one of the resort town's organisations suffered a sciatic nerve fracture and traumatic shock after falling into a trench.

According to the Instagram page "Nayzakokshe", the incident occurred on 10 May during excavation work. Details have now emerged, provided by the victim's relatives.

"Work was being carried out on Seifullin-Oktyabrskaya Street without insurance, hiring people without a single document. My brother was among the hired workers. When the man was working in the trench, he was buried twice in a row. You could say he was born under a lucky star. There was one violation after another," the victim's brother reported.

The man said his brother was buried by earth once, and then, when colleagues had pulled him out halfway, he was buried a second time. In the end, he lay under the ground for about half an hour.

The victim's relative noted that the contracting organisation is now refusing to take responsibility for the incident.

"My brother has been lying in hospital for days on end. And the contractors don't intend to answer for this!" the man exclaimed indignantly.

Earlier, in the Ulken Naryn District of the East Kazakhstan Region, two utility workers died during emergency restoration work.
