Chairman of the "Ak Zhol" party confirmed the detention of his deputy

Submitted by Вера Александрова on

This is about the deputy leader of the party Dmitry Vasilyev, who has been out of contact since last week. According to ORDA, his party colleagues have contacted the National Security Committee (KNB).

"Since there was information in the media, but nothing official, we sent a request to the KNB on Friday. Yesterday we received an official response that Vasilyev had been detained. We tried to contact his lawyers, but have had no contact with them yet. But I hope we will find them today or tomorrow. And based on the information the lawyers provide, we will then understand what is happening," said the leader of the "Aq Jol" party, Azat Peruashev.

According to the party leader, Vasilyev may be considered either a suspect in giving a bribe or a victim of extortion in the case.

"The specific article has not been clarified yet. Apparently there was some leak from official correspondence; it seems he is being charged, or rather, it is not him, but an official from the National Guard who is being charged with 'receiving a bribe'. We need to understand what this is about. According to Article 367 of the Criminal Code, a person forced to give a bribe is not a criminal. We need to understand who initiated the bribe, whether it was Vasilyev or whether he was a victim of extortion," added Peruashev.

Recall that earlier it was reported that the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Konstantin Voronkin, had been detained. What he is suspected of has not been disclosed.

However, Ratel.kz writes that, according to the KNB, the Major General received a bribe from the deputy chairman of the "Aq Jol" party, Dmitry Vasilyev, and the director of LLP "Parallel-TS", Maxim Vasilyev, "for taking actions in their favour in the form of concluding contracts within the framework of public procurement, as well as for general patronage to their benefit to the detriment of the interests of the National Guard."

It is reported that, among other things, Dmitry Vasilyev is the founder of LLP "Parallel-TS". Journalists have speculated that Dmitry and Maxim are brothers.

Incidentally, at the end of August, the "Aq Jol" party deputy Askar Sadykov was stripped of his mandate. Later, the party chairman, Azat Peruashev, stated that the reason for this was a complaint of harassment from a female parliamentary employee.

For his part, Sadykov stated that all accusations were slander. He suggested that "Peruashev wanted to divert the flow of information away from the news about his deputy giving a bribe to the National Guard general."
