The Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) of Astana, together with the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office, detained the former chairman of the board of JSC 'NC KazAutoZhol', Askar Muratuly.
According to the FMA press service, the official is suspected of embezzling budget funds through illegal single-source public procurement.
The court has authorised a measure of restraint against the suspect in the form of 'detention in custody' for a period of 2 months.
Earlier, a director and a chief specialist of the 'KazAutoZhol' branch in Pavlodar were convicted of accepting a bribe.
