In the Baizak district of the Zhambyl region, a scandal has erupted around the election of the rural akim of Kostobe. According to eyewitnesses, police officers arrived in the village on the night after the vote.

According to the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", the conflict arose during the counting of ballots. Representatives of candidate Madi Zhunaev reported violations and questioned the transparency of the process.

In the published video, they claim that the chairperson of the precinct commission restricted access to the count and refused to recount the ballots, despite a discrepancy identified between the number of voters and the data in the final report.

The footage shows that the commission chairperson acknowledges the existence of discrepancies but refused to display the unused ballots. The duty prosecutor was also called to the precinct, but this did not affect the course of events.

According to the regional election commission, the election was declared valid. The winner was Mukhtar Mamyshev, who received 215 votes. His opponent, Madi Zhunaev, obtained 207 votes. Another two candidates — Asylbek Askhanbekuly and Alibek Kuanyshev — gathered 15 and 11 votes, respectively.

It has been reported that Mamyshev previously worked in the prosecutor's office of the Baizak district, was a member of the regional public council, and a deputy of the maslikhat.
