Information is circulating online that the Anti-Corruption Agency is investigating a case against the general director of the Atyrau Oil Refinery (AOR) Galymzhan Zhussanbayev and his deputies Raspekova and Yeskaliyev.

According to Ulysmedia.kz, the management of the AOR is suspected of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan).

Incidentally, in February 2024, Galymzhan Zhussanbayev and the chief engineer of the AOR, Adilet Shoshanbasov, were removed from their positions. The press service of KazMunayGas stated at the time that this decision was made following an audit by a commission.

Later, an appeal from Shoshanbasov was published online, in which he accused Zhussanbayev of creating a tense atmosphere at the plant and of financial embezzlement by the plant's management.

In June, the Astana court reinstated Galymzhan Zhussanbayev, reasoning that he was dismissed "during the probationary period in the absence of a negative work result, without stating reasons".
