The Almaty Prosecutor's Office has cancelled a fine and additional charges imposed on an investor who is building the city's new airport terminal.

According to the department's press service, the construction of the new international terminal and the airport's reconstruction is being carried out by LLP "TAV Kazakhstan".

The total investment amounts to approximately 85 billion tenge, and the project's implementation has created more than 500 jobs.

As it became known, SCE "Almaty Su" of the Almaty Department of Energy and Water Supply had unjustifiably issued the investor with a fine and additional charges for water supply and wastewater services amounting to 122 million tenge.

"The natural monopoly entity demanded fulfilment of obligations under a contract that had no legal force. The unlawful actions of the SCE on the RSE "Almaty Su" were stopped by the prosecutor's office of the Turksib district through the issuance of a supervisory act," the department noted.

Recall, earlier the national company "Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary" (KGS) won a victory in a lengthy legal battle with the Malaysian investor LLP "King Development", which had systematically violated the terms of the contract for the construction of the second phase of the National Space Centre.
