The Akimat of the Abai Region has announced a tender for the purchase of six official vehicles with a total cost of around 170 million tenge

This was reported by the Telegram channel "They've already come for us" citing the public procurement portal.

According to the tender documentation, the Akimat plans to acquire two executive-class cars at 42 million tenge each. Based on the specifications outlined in the technical documents, this could refer to the Kia K9 model. Another four cars will cost 21 million tenge each. These are likely to be fully loaded Hyundai Sonata models.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of 2025, the Akimat of the Abai Region has been headed by Berik Uali — the former press secretary of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

For context, the President previously called for total savings of budget funds and for them to be spent only on solving the most pressing tasks.
