An investigation into the akim of Khromtau, Sagyndyk Shabykpaev, has been completed in the Aktobe region. The case materials have been transferred to the Khromtau District Court. According to the publication Diapazon, the first court hearing has been scheduled for 11 December.

It will be recalled that in November it was reported that the 40-year-old official, who had been running the city for the last two years, was suspected of taking a bribe. Following his arrest, the Aktobe Regional Court authorised his detention for a period of two months.

It has also emerged that from August 2018, Shabykpaev held the position of deputy akim of Khromtau. He was elected as the city's akim two years ago by a decision of the Khromtau District Territorial Election Commission.
