Senate Deputy Murat Kadyrbek demands that the privatisation of the "Saryagash" sanatorium be abandoned.
According to MIА "Kazinform", he believes that the privatisation of the "Saryagash Medical and Rehabilitation Centre" could negatively affect the Kazakh citizens who work there, as well as those who come for treatment.
"Today, the sanatorium receives up to 20,000 visitors a year who come for rest and treatment, with accommodation costs ranging from 14,000 to 25,000 tenge per day. Currently, there are more than 50 private sanatoriums located on the same territory. Their prices range from 40,000 to 120,000 tenge, making them largely unaffordable for the general population. In accordance with the 'Comprehensive Privatisation Plan for 2021–2025', the sanatorium is included in the list of organisations recommended for transfer to a competitive environment. The inclusion of the sanatorium in the comprehensive plan is causing serious concern among the region's residents," said the deputy.
According to him, local residents fear that after the privatisation of the sanatorium, the new owner may cut staff to increase profits.
In this regard, Deputy Kadyrbek asked the country's Prime Minister, Olzhas Bektenov, to exclude the sanatorium from the Comprehensive Privatisation Plan.
Recall that earlier the "Saryagash" medical and rehabilitation complex was included in the list of privatisation objects — it was put up for auction.
