The Prosecutor's Office of Pavlodar Region has identified non-payment to the budget by Ekibastuz GRES-2 totalling more than 640 million tenge.
According to the press service of the department, based on the supervisory report, appropriate recovery measures were taken against the taxpayer, as a result of which GRES-2 paid the aforementioned amount.
Recall that in February, the Prosecutor's Office of Pavlodar Region identified major embezzlement at JSC "Ekibastuz GRES-2". The funds were intended for the expansion and reconstruction of the thermal power plant with the installation of a third power unit. The amount of unconfirmed work amounted to approximately 1 billion tenge.
Incidentally, shortly before this, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a government meeting raised the issue of the timely implementation of the expansion and reconstruction project of Ekibastuz GRES-2. The head of state stated that the country is experiencing a shortfall in capacity for the generation and transmission of electrical and thermal energy.
